28 June 2011 The story about Markus, who received his second implant with the help from Audiere was published in the evening paper Õhtuleht along with the interview with his parents Maret and Aigar.

13 May 2011 - the weekly magazine Naisteleht published Kristiina Genno's story about the 3 years old Merili, who received her first implant with Audiere's help.

Sirle Karu presented the Birds' nest project along with Rocca al Mare High School's 6th and 7th form pupils and their teacher Mari Viik to Estonian audiences on the 7 April 2011 at the popular morning TV programme Terevisioon.

On 31 March 2011 the Eesti Päevaleht newspaper published a news item by Kärt Karpa about a joint project of Audiere and Rocca al Mare School.

On 6 April 2010 the Arter weekend supplement of the Postimees newspaper included a piece by Ingrid Videnberg about the concert in memory of Professor Mart Kull at the assembly hall of the Estonian Academy of Sciences on 26 March.

On 10 December 2009 the popular Ringvaade show on the Estonian Television channel featured the story of Ellen Müil as part of the Help and Win Campaign. Ellen was the first child to get the necessary implant in Estonia and she is doing fine – she attends an ordinary school and her story is a vivid example of how a cochlear implant changes the life of a deaf child. Sirle Karu, a member of Audiere’s management board, spoke briefly about the Nora implants.

On 14.09.2009 Kroonika magazine published a news item by Getter Lukjanov about the Help and Win Campaign and the role played by Ines in that campaign

On 14 September 2009 the SL Õhtuleht newspaper published an article by Rando Tooming entitled “Ines: The wish to help deaf children comes from my childhood” in which he interviewed Eda-Ines Etti.

The Reporter news show on the Kanal 2 television channel on 23.04.2009 had a segment on Audiere’s activities. The corresponding news item, entitled “Estonian deaf children regain hearing with the help of good people”, can be read on the Tarbija24 website.

Avo-Rein Tereping from Tallinn University and Sandra Vill from Tartu University Hospital Ear Clinic
were awarded the Audiology Scholarship for conducting a study of the hearing acuity of Estonian schoolchildren.

The aim of the study is to get an overview of hearing acuity and possible hearing loss among

Estonian schoolchildren. For this, an audiometric screening of Estonian schoolchildren will be

conducted. The target group are 9th grade students. The test group consist of 1000 school students.

Prior to the test, students will be given a 45-minute lecture on the causes of hearing loss and the

risks of hearing loss from listening to music with headphones and loud music in general. The lecture

will also go over general hearing hygiene. All test subjects will receive a non-personalised

(anonymous) written assessment of their hearing acuity as feedback. If the hearing loss is greater

than 30 dB, the parent will be notified.

The study will follow all requirements related to human studies. The personal data of the subject will

not be recorded. Only generalised and statistically processed data will be used for publication.

Descriptive statistical methods will be used to analyse the results of the screening test. The results

will be published in the journal Eesti Arst and in some international journals.

The study has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Research.

The study has been postponed due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On December 6 the Supervisory Board of the Aadu Luukas Foundation nominated the non-profit organisation Audiere to be one of the six nominees of the Missionary Prize of the Aadu Luukas Foundation in 2012.

This highly valued recognition is accompanied by a monetary award – 6,400 euros – that we have decided to allocate to the Audiology Scholarship Fund. Pursuant to the statutes of the Missionary Prize the award is given to a person or organisation that stands out as a promoter of the balanced development of Estonian society and our nation’s quality of life. By educating young agile audiologists we can fulfil this aim in a manner worthy of the award.
